Concrete costs and quote comparisons
Begin with the concrete cost guide, then choose the job-specific guide for driveway replacement, a patio, or a slab. A published rate becomes useful only when its preparation, finish and removal scope are clear.
The quote comparison worksheet helps you compare those inclusions. If the condition of an existing surface is the main concern, read repair or replace before assuming the whole area needs the same treatment.
Plan the ground, joints and access
These guides explain different parts of the work beneath and around the finished surface:
- Base preparation and drainage planning.
- Concrete joints and thickness and reinforcement.
- Truck and backyard access, optional project measurements, and pour-day arrangements.
Use them to ask focused questions. They do not provide a design for an unknown site or tell a crew which mix and dimensions to use.

Choose and care for the surface
Compare broom, stamped and exposed-aggregate finishes, then consider color samples and sealers. Viewing a sample is a different decision from choosing a maintenance product after installation.
For the construction period, separate curing from permission to use new concrete. The hot-weather and cold-weather guides explain why the day’s conditions belong in the plan.
After installation, the guides to cracks, floor moisture and handover help you record a concern or prepare for the next trade without guessing at the cause.
Local approvals and project handover
The Burleson and Johnson County permit guide separates city work, county-road access and state-road questions. Use the area directory for the town closest to the property.
You can request a quote before reading every guide. A short description of what you want to change is enough to begin the conversation.
